Recognizing the people’s right to information about the government’s decision making process, the Wisconsin Department of Employee Trust Funds will, consistent with the state’s Public Records Law (Wis. Stat. §§ 19.31 to 19.39), provide information regarding ETF’s affairs, except for individual personal information restricted by statute.

Please note that Wis. Stat. §19.36 states that records exempted from disclosure by state or federal law are not subject to disclosure under the Public Records Law. Examples of records protected from disclosure under state or federal law include those that meet the definition of “protected health information” under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and records that meet the definitions of “individual personal information” and “medical record” in Wis. Stat. 40.07 and ETF 10.01 (3m) 10.70 of the Wisconsin Administrative Code.

Members of the public may obtain information and access to ETF’s public records, or obtain copies of these records.
