Department of Employee Trust Funds
January 10, 2007
New Reporting Option Available to Employers
The Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) Transaction Upload application
is now available to employers on the Department’s On-Line
Network for Employers (ONE) site.
Transaction Upload replaces file transfer protocol (FTP) and diskette
as the preferred method for electronic reporting of annual transactions.
WRS Transaction Upload allows employers to run validation edits
on their electronic annual files to ensure they meet the formatting
specifications in Chapter 12 of the WRS Administration Manual (Rev
07/2004). See detailed instructions (below) on how to transmit annual
reports using this application.
Although the Department of Employee Trust Funds (ETF) will accept
diskette or FTP files for 2006 annual reporting, employers are strongly
encouraged to use WRS Transaction Upload instead.
Note: ETF will not accept reports on diskette or via
FTP for 2007 annual reporting.
Requesting access to ONE for WRS Transaction Upload application:
Employers currently authorized to use ONE’s WRS Account
Update, already have access the WRS Transaction Upload application.
No additional authorization is required.
Employers that currently do not have access to ONE’s WRS
Account Update must complete and submit to ETF an Online
Network for Employers Security Agreement (ET-8928). Please allow
two to three weeks for completion of the approval process.
Technical requirements for using ONE:
To ensure proper security for all online applications, employers
must have a browser that supports the capabilities of Netscape Navigator
(version 7.1 or higher) or Microsoft Internet Explorer (version
5.5 or higher).
