Question:  What is Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) Remittance Reporting?

Answer:

At the end of January each year, an annual supply of WRS Monthly Retirement Remittance Reports, ET-1515 is sent to employers. These forms are used to report earnings paid and contributions made during the calendar year. Employers should review their new supply of reports for errors. If an error is found on the report of if the reports do not arrive by the middle of February, call 608/267-9034.

Each report contains a preprinted reporting month. Employers must be certain to report the earnings and contributions that correspond to the designated reporting month.

The due date is preprinted on each form. The remittance reports must be received by the due date or an interest charge will be assessed. To avoid interest charges, mail the report in plenty of time to assure it is received by the due date. It is the date the report is received that determines if it is late, not the postmark on the envelope. Also it is important so submit the December remittance report in a timely fashion to ensure the timely distribution of the annual WRS Statements of Benefits.

Detailed instructions on completing the WRS Remittance Report ET-1515 are contained in Chapter 7 of the WRS Administration Manual, ET-1127. For additional assistance with completing the ET-1515, call 608/266-2737.
